Looking
back on my undergraduate degree I wish I understood that your classes, your
studies and your professors are only as good as what the student chooses to do
with them. I wish I knew that the end of the class is only the beginning of the
lesson.

Don't
confine yourself to opportunities "defined" by your major. Get
involved within your community and beyond. You can gain a lot of experience,
meet people from all walks of life, and most importantly, help make a
difference. If you have the travel bug, volunteer overseas! It's therapeutic to
your mental health to visit and help those who are less fortunate.

Don't despair. We talked with experts from Blu's and Henry Singer when they were on campus recently for the first University of Calgary Leadership Dress for Success Seminar. Watch the videos for tips on making the right style statement at work.
While you’ve been busy going to classes, studying and otherwise getting your degree, you’ve picked up a few things that will stick with you long after you’ve forgotten exact particulars of European history or some of the intricacies of cellular biology.
