Dr. Russell-the best zoology professor a University student could ask for, the best part of my day was attending his classes! He is the most kind, thoughtful, inspiring individual! - Carissa, Biological Science

The views from the library tower. I really enjoyed taking a 2 minute break from studying to look up and take in an awesome view of the city or mountains, depending which side you were on.  It would be really cool someday to have a view like that from my office! - Patrick, International Relations & Applied Energy Economics

Those all-nighters spent at MacKimmie Library during the exam season. Whether you're in the Information Commons cramming for an exam, up in the tower examining books or sitting in a cubicle working on a paper due the next day, you never feel alone. When you’re feeling lonely, stressed, overwhelmed, and like you need to take a breather – all you need to do is observe the students around you. Whether you know any of them or not, looking at those surrounding you is a refreshing reminder that you’re not the only one suffering.  Many others – of different gender, age, culture, race, academic background, are experiencing the same thing as you. There may be other moments in the future outside of your studentship where you truly feel alone and like no one else in the world understands what you’re going though, but reflecting on those late nights spent at MacKimmie will remind you that the student experience at the University of Calgary wasn’t one of them. I will miss and never forget those hours. - Kenda, Health Sciences

The thing that I will miss most about the University of Calgary is the feeling of accomplishment that I got with every lab handed in. For every hour of sweat and tears poured into my work, the reward was worth it when I got my lab back with a good mark. This kind of reward based system is like a drug and it will be hard to lose such a steady supply. - Joshua, Geomatics Engineering

The thing that I will miss the most about the University of Calgary is getting to meet people from across Canada and the world.  I have made several great friends that come from very different places and backgrounds, yet are intereested in the same programs as I am.  Growing up in a small town in Central Alberta, it was great to meet people with such diverse experiences! I now have places I can stay in every province and in Australia. - Melanie, Education

Despite all the homework and reading we have to do, I will miss always being busy and finding ways to postpone the workload. I will miss the classes that I did want to take; I learned so much invaluable information.  - Geovanni, Communications
