"...the feeling of optimism"

Dear graduating student,

Presiding over Convocation is one of my most meaningful roles as Chancellor. I promise you that the Convocation ceremony will raise within each of us the feeling of optimism and of the goodness of life. I wish you all the best in your final semester at the University of Calgary, and I look forward to shaking your hand as you proudly cross that stage. The honour will be yours; the privilege will be mine.

Yours sincerely,
Joanne Cuthbertson, BEd'73
Chancellor

2010 Class Ambassadors

Congratulations Scarlett and Jason!

Congratulations to Scarlett Crockatt and Jason Motkoski, your official 2010 Class Ambassadors! On top of bragging rights, Scarlett and Jason will each receive a makeover courtesy of Henry Singer and Blu's, gift cards and participation in select graduation events. Thank you to all who voted!

Scarlett Crockatt

"To me, leadership is all about being flexible, sharing passion, providing support and resources, maintaining accountability, and leading by example. I like to lay out basic expectations, get my team excited about a project, and leave it to their imaginations to see how far we can take it."

 Jason Motkoski

"To me, leadership is about passion. It is more than a decision to get involved, a desire to serve others, or an ability to give directions. At some point, leadership becomes contagious: others catch a vision, become inspired and follow in step. In every situation, leadership is unique, yet its core values are universal."
